Normal heart is able to beat 60 seconds after being removed from the body, but this guy’s heart continued beating for another 25 minutes. However, it did not beat in the proper rhythm because it was not able to pump blood preventing him stay alive.
This happened due to the heart adapting on the long term cocaine consumption. Even though it beats faster, the heart pumps smaller blood amounts, thus receiving smaller amounts of oxygen.
It is possible that it got used to small oxygen amounts and continued beating for so long outside the body.
