We keep the foods in refrigerator in order to maintain their fresh and healthy properties. But there are foods which when kept in refrigerator, lose their natural flavor and freshness, and their durability is reduced.
Here is a list of foods that we usually keep in the refrigerator, and do not need to :
Onions should be stored at room temperature in knitted sacks. Make sure not to place them near potatoes because they release gases and speed up the rotting process.
Similarly as onions, garlic should also be stored on knitted sacks at room temperature.
Low temperature can change the taste of potatoes. Therefore, they should be stored at room temperature, in a dark and dry place.
If you keep your tomatoes in a refrigerator, they will lose their natural flavor. So, it is recommended to keep tomatoes in a plastic bag at room temperature. In case you want your tomatoes to get ripe, store them in a paper bag.
