5 Cancer-Causing Snacks Your Children Should Never Eat Again

Petroleum is the yellow liquid that is mined from the earth to produce gasoline and motor oil.

It’s also refined and used in many food products that line american grocery shelves, most of these being marketed towards children.

These products often have bright food coloring, flavoring and preservatives in processed snacks.

Although the FDA hasn’t yet banned these petroleum by-products added in American food, many other countries have owing to the fact that they pose a serious health threat.

According to recent studies, petroleum-based food dye is linked to the following:

  • Allergic reactions
  • Obesity
  • Asthma
  • Diabetes
  • Hypoglycemia
  • Chromosomal damage
  • Organ damage
  • Birth defects
  • Hyperactivity
  • Cancer

Here’s a list of popular children’s foods you’ll want to avoid:

1. Pop-Tarts

Another iconic brand that kindles nostalgic memories of childhood is the beloved Pop-Tart. This frosted, heatable, fruit-filled rectangle is the go-to snack of many children. It should come as no surprise, however, that a “snack” shaped like a card board box is about as nutritious as, well, a card board box.

Cherry-flavored Pop-Tarts contain Red 40, an artificial dye shown to cause cancer in rat experiments. Furthermore, Pop-Tarts contain Synthetic B6, composed of hydrochloric acid, formaldehyde and petroleum ester. The very names of those ingredients sound far from healthy.

So, if you have any more Pop-Tarts left hidden in your cabinets, better trash them now because they were never even fresh to begin with.

2. Fruit Snacks

They may be called ‘fruit’ snacks, but the only fruit in them is found in their name. Unfortunately, these misleading snacks are mostly entirely made of artificial additives and colors. Red 3 is a commonly used food coloring, also known as E127 or Erythrosine, a petroleum product.

3. M & Ms

These chocolates along with red 40, yellow 6 and yellow 5 are often colored by using blue 2, which causes brain and bladder tumors. Also, blue 1 inhibits the development of nerve cells.

4. Cheetos.

These orange snacks are not only colored with yellow 6, they also contain an artificial flavoring mix of other highly toxic substances.

The “Flamin’ Hot” variety was even reported to cause abdominal distress, gastritis and addiction-like dependency in children and adults (7).

5. Teddy Grahams

These small bears are laced with dreaded TBHQ which are toxic and cause nausea, vomiting, ringing in the ears, collapse, delirium, stomach cancer in lab rats, fragment DNA, damage to human lungs and umbilical cells; anxiety in children, restlessness, and intensifying the symptoms of ADHD.
